Senior Spotlight 2024: Jazmine Castaneda - Prairie High School
If anyone has you ever told you that kids these days are irresponsible or lazy, then they haven’t met Jazmine yet! She has got to be one of the hardest working high schoolers I’ve ever met and I know her determination to succeed will take her very far in life! Not only does she work two jobs while staying busy in school but she’s also the oldest sibling in her family so she is a phenomenal role model. I’m so grateful we found time in her schedule for this senior session because it was a really fun one!
Miss Kerry from Prairie joined us for the day as we made our way out to Palisades. I know what you’re thinking… really Tracy, Palisades again?! And it does go against "my rule" of taking seniors the same location but when you have a location like Palisades, it’s easy to do so! This area is full of so many trails and secret spots that no two pictures look alike. And now the fall foliage is in full effect so we had all of the beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows as the leaves are changing with plenty of greenery mixed in still. The fall season in Iowa doesn’t ever last long enough so I’m always happy to capture the beauty of it with my seniors!
Jazmine had some fun outfits that she confidently rocked during her session too. She wore a variety of tops with some black jeans which I loved because neutrals always go with everything. Jazmine has the most beautiful hair that’s full of the most perfect, bouncy curls ever and it looked amazing down especially with her pretty brown eyes. And just when I thought I couldn’t love her hair anymore, she put it up in the best topknot I’ve ever seen! I wish I could rock a big bun like that but Jazmine can definitely pull it off!
Even though Jazmine started off a little shy with me initially, by the end of the session, we were all laughing and having a blast together. Miss Kerry brought along a portable speaker and when she played some music, Jazmine started dancing the Bachata! Bachata is a style of dance that originated in the Dominican Republic and some say it’s like a slower version of the salsa. Either way, it was beautiful and I felt so honored that Jazmine was brave enough to share this dance with me! The three of us girls had a really fun time together and I hope you love these favorites from such a special session!
Jazmine - you are wise beyond your years and have such a big heart! Thank you for teaching me all about the Bachata!
