I think I finally found the secret to starting my senior sessions off right… any guesses to what it might be?! Okay well here it is and hear me out for a second: McDonald’s breakfast burritos. I know, it sounds a bit unorthodox but it certainly brought a smile to Apollo’s face right off the bat! It's really the little things with these senior guys! I’ve known Apollo for quite some time now but he came to his session solo which meant I really got the chance to know him even better. This is hands down my favorite part of photographing seniors - I love getting to know them all as individuals because each one is so unique in their own way!

While football is his current sport, Apollo also does track and basketball so his session consisted of rotating around jerseys and grabbing either a football or basketball at any given moment. Just talking to him about sports, you can see his eyes light up and his smile get wider because he loves it all that much! And when someone loves what they do, taking pictures of it makes it easy especially with a guy as laidback as Apollo! We ventured around Lake MacBride and got some really awesome shots in some wooded areas and around the lake itself. Apollo also loves fishing so he was excited to toss a line in with his fishing pole. I felt like I was able to capture him in his true element which was pretty special to witness!

Aside from being out at Lake MacBride, we also took some time around the Prairie campus to get some pictures on the track and football field. Once again, Apollo went into full athlete mode. He can deliver the serious looks but also isn’t afraid to flash his genuine smile too. And I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, I love the jeans and jersey combo but also the classic fall plaid. Of course, he’s quite proud of his collection of Jordan’s so we had to highlight those with some studio photos as well before we called it a wrap. I’m jealous of his impressive shoe game! Not just anyone can come to their senior session alone and be as confident as Apollo but his session flew by because we were having so much fun. It was hard to narrow this session down to just a few so enjoy these favorites of mine!
