Senior Spotlight 2024: Tate Monk - Maquoketa Valley High School
I know I’ve been in the photography business for a long time when some of my very first T Marie newborns are now graduating from high school! I just can’t believe that Tate was one of my original baby models but here he is all grown up and even getting the honor to be on his school's homecoming court at Maquoketa Valley High School. I’ve known his mom for several years and we used to work together so this senior session was fun while we reminisced and caught up. We met up at a family friend’s property in Monticello where it was all things rustic and beautiful. The weathered barn and corn fields were a perfect setting for this Iowa boy! We even lucked out and took some incredible pictures by the covered bridge and around the pond. Thankfully we squeezed everything in before a big rain storm blew through!
Tate is another one of my senior boys who loves all of his toys! You can typically find him riding in his truck, off roading on his dirt bike, or catching some waves on Lake Delhi with his jet ski! I was so excited to be able to showcase his truck and dirt bike in his senior photos because I know that is such a big part of his life. It's so fun seeing how each of my seniors light up when they share their interests and hobbies with me. He is a thrill seeker but still quite down to earth!
Since he has a toy for the land and water, of course he has to have one for the air. Tate recently committed to the University of Dubuque for their aviation program! Because of that, we made our way to the Monticello Regional Airport. It was so cool seeing Tate in his element with his aviators on while posing by the various planes and on the runway. The dark storm clouds were ominous in the background but added just the right amount of drama to our time at the airport before we called it a wrap. Enjoy my favorites from Tate's adventurous session!
Tate - you've grown up to be such an incredible young man! I am so proud of your accomplishments and can't wait to watch you continue to fly high through life!
