If there’s one thing I love about senior sessions, it’s when my seniors show up with their very own hype squad. And Rowan truly has one of the best hype squads around! Her mom and grandma joined us and not only did they keep the mood light, help Rowan with outfit changes and support her, but they were also more than willing to step in as my assistant whenever I needed some help! I was lucky enough to photograph Rowan’s older sister, Reegan, last year and their whole family always makes me feel so welcome whenever I’m with them!

We ventured down to the Iowa River Power Company trail in Iowa City and also the Iowa River Landing area. This spot is so unique and full of fun photo opportunities which Rowan was up for exploring! We were able to walk along a few different trails and remade our way to the top of a parking garage by the end of the session. Rowan even braved some wet and muddy areas, while barefoot, for the sake of getting the perfect shot. Let’s just say that I’m glad it was her doing that part and not me!  That’s what the zoom is for, right?! All kidding aside, getting a little messy was definitely worth it for these incredible shots!

Now can we talk about the stunning outfits she wore?! She wore some of the cutest outfits from Dry Goods and SHEIN! That blue dress was absolutely gorgeous and truly made her eyes sparkle like diamonds. And I loved all of the various neutral colors she had on with a variety of different textures from leather and sheer satin to a knit sweater and casual pants. She easily pulled off the laid-back daytime look to ready for a night out on the town sassy look.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature wasn’t playing very nice and we narrowly avoided a big storm so we will officially wrap up her session soon to include some action on the soccer field while she proudly wears her Prairie High School soccer uniform. It's been fun watching her turn into a fierce competitor on the field so I definitely want to capture such a big part of her life! Even though the weather tried to rain on our parade, it definitely didn't put a damper on our day so I hope you all enjoy these favorites from our time together!

Rowan - you have the best girl gang and I always feel so lucky to spend time with you all sweet gals! I can't wait to see you again soon for some fun and fiery soccer pictures!
