Senior Spotlight 2024: Malaki Gelo - Prairie High School
I feel like a broken record saying, “it was another hot and humid day!” But in reality, that’s just July in Iowa and we can’t seem to escape this horrendous humidity! Thankfully Malaki opted for an early morning session so he could make it through the session in his fall attire. I always love the look of jeans with a plaid flannel or button down shirt on my senior guys! You can never go wrong by keeping it classic and casual!
We spent a lot of time enjoying Morgan Creek Park to start off our morning. If you haven’t been out to that area in awhile, it’s definitely worth checking out! There’s been so many improvements made to it along with new trees and plants since the derecho did so much damage. While there, we came across some wooded areas that provided us with some much needed shade and a little pond to really round out the rustic background. Malaki didn’t take long to warm up to the camera so he was having fun and giving me lots of smiles right from the get go!
After we wrapped up at Morgan Creek, we headed over to Prairie High School to get a few shots on the football field and in the locker room. I had the chance to try out one of my new gel colored lights in the locker room and let’s just say I'm very excited about these! They add a whole other dynamic level to those serious sports photos! Malaki threw on his jersey, grabbed his helmet and a football, then shifted into the serious football player I know he is. The clouds rolled in at the perfect time to really give us that moody sky which complimented Malaki’s overall look. Starting off early in the morning had its benefits because we were able to call it a wrap before the heat of the day settled in. Enjoy these sneak peeks of my favorites from Malaki's session!
Malaki - thanks for being so smiley and also having fun while being serious! I appreciate your willingness to start early in the morning to beat the heat!
