Senior Spotlight 2024: Sarah Chadima - Prairie High School
In Iowa, farms may be abundant but to each family, it is their own unique heritage where they preserve memories while building a future together. And in the case of my recent senior session with Sarah, it was clear how meaningful her family’s farms are to her.
Before the shoot, my dear friend Whitney helped get Sarah all dolled up. Because she’s already a natural beauty, Whitney went with light makeup and some fun falsies to really help her eyes pop. Also how stunning is her sleek and shiny hair? She nailed her senior picture day look before I even got the camera out!
Right away at the farm, I was greeted by the family’s mischievous chocolate lab, Annie. Senior sessions are always fun when there is a furry friend included! It was a true Iowa summer day with high heat and humidity so we chose to stay in the shade as much as possible. Thankfully there was a large willow tree that gave us a beautiful background to start with. During one of Sarah’s outfit changes, I even got to enjoy the best sweet tea with fresh mint from the garden! Shortly after that, we made our way to Sarah’s grandparents farm which was just down the gravel road. Her grandma had some blooming daisies so we picked a few that Sarah posed with by an old barn. Their farm pond was also full of lily pads which was another unique area to capture some images by. We wrapped up the session around some hay bales and along the gravel road. There’s just something extra special about family farms so enjoy a few of my favorites for our session!
Sarah - I love your style and creativity! It was my honor getting to capture these photos of you at your family's farms!
