As I said goodbye to one great group of seniors this month, I was lucky enough to say hello to a new incredible group of seniors to start off my senior 2024 sessions! June provided us with some truly perfect summer days so we were able to be outside while soaking up the sun, handling the humidity with humor, and exploring some beautiful natural landscapes.

For the month of June, my senior sessions took me east of Cedar Rapids out to Palisades Park and down south of Iowa City to Harvest Preserve. I was lucky enough to venture out to some family farms as well as various downtown areas as well. We stumbled across some tall green prairie grasses, blooming flowers such as daisies and hydrangeas, rich rolling farmland, and a few beachy areas. Yes, even in Iowa we found a beach! Every location had its own unique backdrops and settings which came to life with each senior session. If I am ever at the same location twice, I do my best to avoid using the exact same area and different poses to ensure each of my clients gets their own individual look - you won’t find any cookie cutter photos here because I love personalizing the photos to everyone’s personality and style!

During these senior sessions, I do my best to keep things low key so everyone can feel relaxed and just have fun. Sometimes it’s awkward and sometimes it’s hilarious, but we always end up with some really great photos! Each one of these seniors were awesome in their own way and I truly appreciate they took time out of their busy schedules to let me capture this special moment in their lives for them. I can’t wait to keep creating lasting memories through more photos with another great group of seniors in July! See you in a flash!
