Is it just me or is this summer is flying by?! Not only that but the year itself is now officially half over and that is hard to believe! July rolled in hot and humid, and like the true dog days of summer, the heat and humidity didn’t let up all month long. This month also kept my calendar full and my heart fuller (more full?!) which is exactly how I like it!

First I want to say that I appreciate everyone’s patience with myself and my assistant, Katie, as we both went on vacations this month. We don’t like to keep anyone waiting for a response or information but also it’s good to unplug from time to time! Hopefully we got back to everyone but if we happened to miss something, send us another message so we can chat! Besides vacation, I also went on a little photography retreat in Missouri with another photographer friend. I learned all sorts of new skills including photographing with gel lights, fire, and more. it's all super cool and I can’t wait to start incorporating these new tricks and skills into more of my upcoming sessions!

Speaking of sessions, July was jam packed with a variety of senior sessions and even a few team photos! This month was all about chasing sunsets with the most beautiful cotton candy skies and big sunflowers. We went to Bass Farms in Mount Vernon and Bloomsbury Farms in Atkins which both had fields of bright flowers in full bloom. We are so lucky to be surrounded by incredible farms such as these that provide entertainment for families and also an abundant of photo opportunities. Black and white outfits, warm neutrals, and bright solids were the outfits of choice for most of my senior sessions. I love these color combos because it really makes each client pop whether they have a field of flowers behind them or an old rustic brick building. If you’re ever worried about what to wear for a photo session with me, don’t fret at all! I offer a style consult as part of my senior packages that’s about 1-2 weeks before each session. During the consult we can go over possible outfits, accessories, and locations that will best compliment you. That way you’re prepped and ready to rock on picture day! 

Overall, July was a great month that was full of fun and I'm really getting back into the swing of things! Each senior session has been so unique and I feel so fortunate to be capturing these lasting memories for all of you. Looking ahead, August will be all about heading back to school, the kickoff of fall sports, and of course more senior sessions. Summer might be trying to wind down before we know it but we're still going to make the most of it! See you in a flash!
